linked application An Avaya MPS program that performs interim call processing or
administrative functions. A linked application may be shared among
several main applications. The main application passes control to the
linked application. After the linked application completes its
functions, it returns control to the main application.
Linked applications are not assigned to lines—they are called by
main applications.
Only one copy of a linked application is required on each Avaya
MPS, regardless of the number of main applications that link to it.
Contrast with main application.
See also call processing, link.
LKC Last Known Configuration (file). A file that consists of all VMMs
in-memory element records and the bitmap representing VDM. This
file is updated every time an MMF is activated or deactivated, or an
online update occurs.
See also MMF, VDM, VMM.
local Refers to processes or data structures on the same node.
