index file The component file of a MultiMedia file that contains the vocabulary

element attributes (for example, labels, sizes, associated data, etc.).

Also included in this file are the element access pointers (EAPs),

which point to the relevant audio data in the corresponding MMF data

file. The index file has a .mmi extension.
