Creating a MIB Instance for a Cached Name
By default, NetBIOS creates a MIB instance for each name entry stored in the
name cache.
You can use Site Manager to disable the feature if you want to release the system
memory and processing resources otherwise dedicated to maintaining cached
names in the MIB.
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose Protocols.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. choose IP. The IP menu opens.
3. choose NetBIOS. The NetBIOS menu opens.
4. choose Global. The Edit NetBIOS/IP Global Parameters
window opens.
5. Set the Create MIB Inst for Cached
Name parameter. Click on Help or see the
parameter description on page A-23.
6. Click on OK. Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
