Using Site Manager
Configuring the Router for Forwarding Mode
By default, IP forwards all packets that are not addressed to itself. Use the
forwarding mode to direct the IP router to route (forward) IP traffic. Forwarding
configures the IP router to process all broadcast packets and all IP packets
explicitly addressed to it, and to route all other IP packets.
You can use the BCC or Site Manager to select the forwarding mode.
Using the BCC
Navigate to the IP global prompt and enter:
forwarding
<
mode>
mode
is one of the following:
forwarding
(default)
notforwarding
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose
Protocols
.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. Choose
IP
. The IP menu opens.
3. Choose
Global
. The Edit IP Global Parameters window
opens.
4. Set the
Enable
parameter. Click on
Help

.
5. Click on
OK
. Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
Note:
BGP will not operate with an IP router in not-forwarding (host-only)
mode. Make sure that the routers you want BGP to operate with are in
forwarding mode.
