Modifying ATM Traffic Parameters
You can modify the following traffic parameters for PVCs:
• Peak cell rate (PCR)
• Sustainable cell rate (SCR)
• Maximum burst size (MBS)
For additional information about traffic parameters, see “ATM Traffic Parameters”
on page 1-23.
Setting the PCR
The peak cell rate (PCR) specifies the upper traffic limit, in cells/s, that the ATM
connection can support.
By default, the PCR is set to 4716 cells/s. Table 6-1
lists the valid ranges for each
Bay Networks ATM router.
For additional information about the PCR, see “Using the PCR” on page 1-24.
Using the BCC
To change the PCR value for a PVC, navigate to the PVC prompt (for example,
box; atm/11/1; pvc-service/boston; pvc/11/1/0/32
) and enter:
pcr
<integer>
integer
is the PCR value that you want the PVC to use.
