Repeat the PROM upgrades for each slot in the router chassis.
7. Verify the upgrade by entering the following commands:
prom -v [freboot.exe | asnboot.exe | anboot.exe]
prom -v [frediag.exe | asndiag.exe | andiag.exe]
The system verifies that the image resident on the boot PROM on the file
system matches the software loaded on the boot PROM.
When you use the -v option, the console displays one of the following
messages after the verification terminates:
If the operation was unsuccessful, the console displays a message stating that
the operation is unsuccessful and describes the problem.
Note: Once you enter the prom command, it must run to completion. The
control-c (abort) command is disabled for the duration of the
prom command
execution to allow it to run to completion. Updating takes from two to ten
minutes per PROM. Verifying takes up to two minutes per PROM.
Note: When updating PROMs with new software, update all slots that contain
FRE modules to avoid a mismatch of software.
prom: slot <slot ID> completed successfully
