Committing MIB Sets

The commit command causes all previously entered set commands to take effect.

When you enter

commit, the system notiﬁes all software services whose

conﬁguration parameters have changed.

Refer to the following section to copy all MIB values from operating RAM to a

conﬁguration ﬁle for later retrieval.

Saving the Conﬁguration

You can copy all MIB values from operating RAM to a conﬁguration ﬁle for later

retrieval. You use the

save conﬁg command to copy the conﬁguration in memory

to the default conﬁguration ﬁle or to an alternative conﬁguration ﬁle. Enter the

following, where <ﬁlename> is the name of the ﬁle you are creating to store the

conﬁguration:

save conﬁg

<vol>

<ﬁlename>

Examples:

Refer to “Booting the Router” in Chapter 8 to load a conﬁguration from a ﬁle.

Both of the following:

set wfBrTp.2.0 1

set wfBrStp.2.0 1

Changes the values wfBrTp.wfBrTpBaseEnable.0

and wfBrStp.wfBrStpBaseEnable.0 to 1 to enable

the Translating Bridge and Spanning Tree.

Both of the following:

set wfBrTp.2.0 2

set wfBrStp.2.0 2

Disables the Translating Bridge and Spanning Tree.

If you enter: The system:

save conﬁg 2:conﬁg

Overwrites the default conﬁguration ﬁle conﬁg on

Volume 2 with the conﬁguration in memory.

save conﬁg 2:conﬁg.2 Creates an alternate conﬁguration ﬁle named con-

ﬁg.2

on Volume 2 and stores the conﬁguration resid-

ing in memory in this ﬁle.

If you enter: The system:
