Receiving the Next Available Host Message
The host driven application can be set to wait for the next message that is not
associated with a particular line (see Inverted Mode on page 64.)
To support this interaction, VTCPD must be running in inverted mode—that is, with
the command line options -m i.
The application must use Get Resource block to inform VTCPD that it is available:
When VTCPD receives the host data, it first tries to locate a phone line with the
matching message ID. If there is no phone line with a matching message ID, VTCPD
associates the message ID with the phone line running the available application. The
application should use a Resource block to receive the message from the host (see
Receiving Messages on page 87.)
After VTCPD associates the message ID with the phone line, the application can send
and receive messages using the same message ID.
This Resource block signals all VTCPD attached to the VMST. If there is more than
one VTCPD attached to the VMST, the particular VTCPD must be specified (see
Configurations That Require Multiple VTCPD on page 91.)
