This allows the daemon to:

• Reserve an available host connection.

• Send data to the host and associate Message ID with the phone line (SEND)

A slot (receiving a GET request) receives data from the host based on the saved

Message ID (RECEIVE) and releases the slot (FREE).

As a reply to GET, the data portion of the condition gotres contains the connection

number, slot number and VTCPD daemon's port number in the format

XXX:YYY:ZZZ. (The application doesn't need to process the data.)

If a reply from the host arrives before the application issues RECEIVE, the reply is

held by the VTCPD daemon.

If a line executes termination or recycling without FREE, the slot is released

automatically.

In any message format, the SEND () string should include only data, whereas the

delimiter (-f d: format) or a length header (-f l: format) is provided by the

VTCPD daemon.

After the initial SEND, it is possible to mix SEND and RECEIVE operations in any

order. The Message ID of the last SEND is always in effect (until FREE) and can be

used to identify consecutive RECEIVEs. For example:
