replacement) conﬁguration ﬁle.

Task 8: Testing the Converted (or Replacement) Conﬁguration

To test the converted (or replacement) conﬁguration ﬁle that you transferred to the

router in Task 7, you must

• Boot the router.

• Verify that the router booted successfully.

• Verify that the router routes trafﬁc according to your conﬁguration.

Booting the Router

To boot the router:

1. In the Site Manager window, select Administration➔Boot Router.

The Boot Router window opens, displaying default ﬁlenames for the router

software image and the conﬁguration ﬁle.

2. Change the name of the ﬁle in the Conﬁguration box to the name of the

converted or customized ﬁle that you transferred in Task 7.

3. Click on Boot.

Wait a few minutes for the router to ﬁnish booting.

4. Go to the next section to verify that the router booted successfully.

Verifying that the Router Booted Successfully

Verify that the router booted correctly with the new conﬁguration ﬁle by selecting

View➔Refresh Display in the Site Manager window.

If the router booted successfully, Site Manager establishes a connection to the

router and displays system information (such as the system name, contact,

location, description, and MIB version). This conﬁrms that the router can boot

with the new converted or replacement conﬁguration ﬁle.
