Task 7: Transferring a Converted (or Replacement) Conﬁguration

File

To transfer your converted and customized conﬁguration ﬁle (or your new Version

10.0 conﬁguration ﬁle) to the router you want to upgrade:

1. Select File➔TFTP in the Router Files Manager window.

2. Select Put File.

The TFTP Put File window displays the Local Filename box.

3. Enter the local directory path and name of your most up-to-date Version

10.0 conﬁguration ﬁle.

4. Click on OK.

The TFTP Put File window displays the destination volume and name of the

conﬁguration ﬁle in the Remote Filename box.

5. Change the name of the ﬁle in the destination volume to something other

than conﬁg.

For example, change the name of the ﬁle to conﬁg.new.

6. Click on OK.

7. Click on OK in the conﬁrmation window.

A window displays the following message:

“wftftp” process started in background [pid 5606]

8. Click on OK.

A window displays the following message:

“wftftp” -h <IP Number> -T 1.500000-...” command completed

successfully [pid 5607]

9. Click on OK.

The Router Files Manager window displays the name of the conﬁguration ﬁle

in the list of ﬁles.

Caution: Avoid writing over conﬁg or startup.cfg until you successfully test

your new customized conﬁguration ﬁle (for example, conﬁg.new) on the

router.
