Parameter: Probe Time
Path: Configuration Manager > Protocols > IP > PIM > Global
Default: 5
Options: 0 to 65,535 (seconds)
Function: Specifies the interval, in seconds, between the time that the first-hop router
sends a probe packet (null register packet with no user data) to the RP router and
the expiration of the register suppression timer, unless it is restarted by receiving
a register-stop message.
Instructions: Specify a value of 0 to prevent the first-hop router from sending a probe packet
to the RP. If you specify a value greater than 0, it must be less than the register
suppression timeout value, otherwise it does not take effect. The highest
allowable value, 65,535 seconds, is equal to 18 hours, 12 minutes, and 15
seconds.
