Configuring an Area Border Router
Each area is connected to the backbone by one or more border routers. In
Figure 7-1
on page 7-5, for example, R3 is a border router connecting area 0.0.0.1
to the backbone. A border router can have connections to multiple areas. In
Figure 7-6
, for example, border router 2 has an interface to a network in area B
and an interface to a network in area C.
