VoIP Monitoring Manager Installation
34 Avaya Integrated Management Standard Management Installation and Upgrade
Post-Installation Tasks
After installing Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager, you must complete the following
post-installation tasks.
1. Check for a valid community name. (See Checking for a Valid Community Name
on
page 34.)
2. Configure two Avaya Communication Manager administration forms—the IP Network
Region form and the System Parameters IP-Options form. (See Configuring the Avaya
Communication Manager Administration Forms on page 35.)
3. Configure the RTCP Listen Port for the Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager Server. The RTCP
Listen Port must match the default RTCP monitor server port administered on the Avaya
Communication Manager Server. The default is 5005. (See Configuring the RTCP Listen
Port on page 38.)
Checking for a Valid Community Name
Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager Server requires a Windows SNMP service community name
that has read-write community rights. By default, the community name with read-write
community rights in Windows SNMP service is private. However, this setting may have been
changed. Read-write community rights are required for loading, changing, and saving
configuration options.
To check for a valid community name on the PC on which Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager
Server is installed, follow these steps:
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Select Administrative Tools.
3. Select Services from the list in the Name column.
4. Scroll down to SNMP Service.
5. Right-click on SNMP Service and select Properties from the context menu.
6. Select the Security tab.
The Accepted community names list box displays the Windows SNMP service community
names.
7. Be sure to remember the community name that has read-write community rights. After you
install Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager Server, you must assign this community name in
Avaya VoIP Monitoring Manager Server. The community name in Avaya VoIP Monitoring
Manager Server must match the community name defined in Windows SNMP service.
