Stopping or Restarting Syslog Messaging to one Host
You can stop Syslog messaging to a specific host by disabling that host entry in
the router configuration. Navigate to the appropriate
log-host
context and enter:
disable
Example:
box#
syslog
syslog#
log-host 192.168.3.4
log-host/192.168.3.4#
disable
To confirm the change, check the current value of the state parameter by entering:
log-host/192.168.125.3#
state
state disabled
To restart Syslog messaging, navigate to the appropriate
log-host
context and
enter:
enable
Example:
box#
syslog
syslog#
log-host 192.168.3.4
log-host/192.168.3.4#
enable
To confirm the change, check the current value of the
state parameter by entering:
log-host/192.168.3.4#
state
state enabled
Disabling and Reenabling a Filter
You can stop an entity filter from capturing event messages for its associated
remote host. Navigate to the context of the appropriate
filter
object and enter:
disable
Example:
box#
syslog
syslog#
log-host 192.168.3.4
log-host/192.168.3.4#
filter/192.168.3.4/telnet-sessions
filter/192.168.3.4/telnet-sessions#
disable
