8. Enter “Alpha” as the ﬁlename and click on Primary Save.

Site Manager appends the .pri sufﬁx to the ﬁlename and then closes the

window. The Conﬁguration Manager window appears (refer to Figure 5-7).

9. Select Protocols➔Router Redundancy➔Clear to clear all protocols

except router redundancy from the redundant circuits.

10. Add any protocols you want to include in your secondary conﬁguration

ﬁle.

11. Select File➔Save As in the Conﬁguration Manager window.

The Save Conﬁguration File window appears (refer to Figure

5-11).

12. Again enter “Alpha” as the ﬁlename. Then click on Secondary Save.

Site Manager appends the .sec sufﬁx to the ﬁlename and then closes the

window.

13. Exit from the Conﬁguration Manager.

If router Alpha and router Beta have identical conﬁgurations, you can now repeat

Steps 1

through 13, using a different member ID and Beta as the base ﬁlename. If

the conﬁgurations differ, you should modify the nonredundant parts of the

conﬁguration before saving the conﬁguration ﬁle.

Router Redundancy Member Global Parameter Descriptions

Use the following descriptions as guidelines when you edit router redundancy

member global parameters.

Parameter: Enable

Default: Enable

Options: Enable | Disable

Function: This parameter is automatically set to Enable when you select Router

Redundancy from the Select Protocols window. If you set this parameter

to Disable, you temporarily disable router redundancy on the router

without deleting your conﬁguration ﬁle.

Instructions: Select Disable to disable router redundancy on this router.
