Supplying a BGP Identifier
The BGP identifier is the IP address of an interface on this router.
There is no default for this parameter. You must supply a BGP ID, using the IP
address of one of the router’s IP interfaces.
You can use the BCC or Site Manager to supply a BGP identifier for the router.
Using the BCC
Navigate to the BGP prompt and enter
router-id
ip_address
ip_address is the address of one of the IP interfaces on the router.
For example, the following command supplies IP address 2.2.2.2 for the BGP
identifier.
/jointfilesconvert/96116/bgp# router-id 2.2.2.2
/jointfilesconvert/96116/bgp#
Using Site Manager
Site Manager Procedure

1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose Protocols.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. Choose IP. The IP menu opens.
3. Choose BGP. The BGP menu opens.
4. Choose BGP Global. The Edit BGP Global Parameters window
opens.
5. Set the BGP Identifier parameter. Click
on Help or see the parameter description
on page A-2.
6. Click on OK. Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
